Construction Alert: Sidewalk behind Crawford Hall along Bigelow Boulevard to Close Starting December 16, 2024

The southern sidewalk along Bigelow Boulevard adjacent to Crawford Hall will be closed starting December 16, 2024, for an approximate duration of three months. The reopening is targeted for March 15, 2025. This closure will allow construction crews to perform work on the roof of the building.

Pedestrians should cross Bigelow Blvd. in advance of the closure between Tennyson Avenue and Ruskin Avenue and use the northern sidewalk. The southern parking lane between Tennyson and Ruskin will also be inaccessible at this time as it will be blocked off to provide space for a dumpster for the project.

There will be signage and fencing indicating the closure and recommended detours, particularly for pedestrians, who will be asked to cross the street at the nearest crosswalk to avoid the closure. Options include the crosswalk at Bigelow Boulevard and Tennyson Avenue as well as Bigelow Boulevard and Bayard Street. Construction Professionals will be present as Flaggers to ensure traffic flow and safety during crane mobilization. Outside of this time frame, vehicles will not be impacted by this closure.

We will post any relevant updates to this closure to this page to keep the community up-to-date.
