Engineering Department Drive will be partially closed to pedestrians and vehicles on Monday, October 14, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. to allow the workers to safely pump concrete into the Benedum Hall sub-basement. The closure will begin at the intersection with Thackeray Avenue and continue through to the loading dock. The loading dock will remain accessible via Bouquet Street. There are several parking spaces that will not be available at this time. Detours and signs will be posted.

North Bouquet Street will be partially closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 10. The closure will occur between the O’Hara Street and Engineering Department Drive intersections and includes the road, sidewalk, and parking spaces.

North Bellefield Avenue will be partially closed between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, July 7. The closure will take place in front of the Information Sciences Building between Bayard Street and Fifth Avenue. The western sidewalk and southbound lane will not be accessible. Please be aware that Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) has also closed a portion of this block, which makes the front entrance to the Music Building inaccessible. Those needing to access the Music Building should use the rear entrance via Ruskin Avenue.

Bigelow Boulevard will be closed between Forbes and Fifth Avenues beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 27. The road is expected to reopen in the early hours of Sunday, June 29. The road and bicycle lanes will be closed, but the western sidewalk alongside the William Pitt Union will remain open. Flaggers will be present at the three impacted crosswalks to help direct pedestrians. Cyclists may dismount from their bikes and walk along the open sidewalk.

The section of the Lothrop Street western sidewalk between the UPMC Presbyterian garage “C” entrance and Terrace Street will be closed daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday, May 26 and continuing through Monday, July 28.

This closure includes the street, sidewalk, and parking spaces. The PG Garage entrance on N Bouquet close to O’Hara Street will be closed during this time. The entrances along De Soto and O’Hara Streets remain open and should be used for access.
Construction Alert: Sidewalk Work on De Soto Street by Alan Magee Scaife Hall Entrance to Occur on Monday, May 12
The western sidewalk of De Soto Street just outside of the entrance to Alan Magee Scaife Hall will be impacted by construction work on Monday, May 12. The sidewalk will not be completely closed, but a portion will be blocked off. Pedestrians will still be able to pass through and should stay aware of the cones, caution tape, etc. that will denote the impacted area. The entrance to Alan Magee Scaife Hall will still be accessible as well.
